Thanks for your interest! HSM is always looking for adults (20 or older) to serve on our team!I believe that solid ministry is built on relationships between adult staff and students.Relationships are the key to students feeling loved and understanding God’s love in practical ways. This is when real spiritual cultivation takes place in the lives of high school students.
According to the Barna Group (www.barna.org), Two out of three born again Christians (64%) accept Jesus Christ as their savior before their 18th birthday. My mentor told me over 10 years ago that Children’s Ministry is foundation; Middle School Ministry is equipping; and HSM is a rescue mission. Therefore, The quality of our staff is essential. We are looking for men and women who have a life-commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to spiritually care for high school students.
We're looking forward to meeting you and talking about your desire to invest into students!
the purpose of HSM and it's adult leaders is to pace with each high school student on their spiritual journey.
by helping them understand and apply God's Word, the Bible. [through modeling, teaching, asking questions, small groups]
by creating opportunities for friendship, service and worship. [through weekend services, FRATZ, trips and service projects]
by listening to their questions, struggles and stories. [through reall life relationships]
3 Ways to get involved...
(1) FRAT Leader (Wednesdays @ 6:30-8:30pm in homes) Our FRATS is the essential program of HSM. As a leader, you'll help lead a group of students every week in a home near the church. We provide the curriculum, the home and the students! We need people who… >>care for others >>are willing to connect deeply with a few >>listen well and guide students closer to Jesus >>will be prepared each week to lead students in discussing God's Word
(2) Weekend HSM Worship Services (Saturdays @ 6:30pm and Sundays @ 11:30am) HSM Worship is the FRONT DOOR into our HSM. Each week students come looking for a friendly and welcoming place to be accepted.
We need people who… >>are friendly and take initiative >>are positive and have a great attitude >>can live without a lot of affirmation from students >>are willing to invest into the spiritual lives of young people
(3) Resource Person (Download Resourse Inventory) We realize not everyone is called to do hand's on youth ministry. But maybe you have a heart for helping. Do you have a van, a beach house, camping equipment?Would you be willing to help plan events, make food, host a FRAT in your home?We NEED you!!! We'd love to put you and your stuff to good use.
